Swanage
The busy Victorian seaside town of Swanage has many attractions for all the family to enjoy including the blue flag beach, the restored pier, water sports and diving, boat trips, amusement arcades, heritage centre, Durlston Country Park and Swanage Railway to name a few.
Putlake Adventure Farm provides a fun day out giving the children a chance to get close to the animals and experience a taste of country life. There are also plenty of walk ways and cycle paths to explore Purbeck’s countryside and the Jurassic Coast.
Out and About
There is so much to discover and experience around picturesque Purbeck; gateway to the Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site.
Take a trip on a steam train to historical Corfe Castle, enjoy walks along the spectacular coastline and National Trust countryside and why not try out some bird watching, fishing, water sports or even sandcastle building… all within three miles of the Park.
You can abandon the car for the entire holiday if you wish since the park is a mere mile and a half from the bustling Seaside town centre of Swanage where many interesting events are held and this includes the Folk Festival and the Swanage Blues Festival. It is even less than that to the sandy blue flag family beaches.
Further Afield
Further afield are Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Weymouth – home to the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy, Poole Harbour, and the bright lights of Bournemouth.
Alternatively hop on the main Swanage to Bournemouth bus which passes the door via the picturesque Sandbanks chain ferry. Ulwell Cottage Caravan Park is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Our friendly reception staff are more than happy to help you plan your days out.
